The day after Christmas, my twin, Hira Reid, Sister Carol Wirtz and I take off on our spiritual retreat heading for Green Valley, Az. We are in route to support Phyllis and Joyce Winough with Reiki treatments. Phyllis is undergoing chemotherapy and is about half way through. Joyce Winough, a Reiki Master was my very 1st Reiki student. She had been thrown from a horse recently, and still has some sustained effects from that fall. We arrive with our Reiki hands, a car full of food, that was lovingly prepared, to support our bodies during this outing across the desert and our time together.
It is wonderful to be together with everyone and the days are filled with Reiki treatments and sharing of stories. The decades of time of our knowing each other has slipped away, and we embrace the excitement of ending the year and an another decade. We hold onto a vision of wellness and healing for all.
Sunday, December 27, was Sister Carol's birthday. We take Carol for her 1st visit to San Xavier Mission de Bac outside of Tucson for early Mass. It was established in the 1700's. The mission is known for its' healing energy. There is a replica body of St. Frances Xavier in the church. One goes to him and prayers are said for healing. I love doing Reiki on this replica body. It feels as though he is alive and Reiki is filling him. I always drift off into this supportive, meditative place where I float in healing energy. We climb the hill outside to get a vista view and walk in the circle around the hill top.
We return for a full day of treatments and support for everyone. I notice as I am treating, that my diamond ring is missing from my left hand. After treatments we all go through the usual back tracking, hunting in the car, rooms, floor, backpack, jacket but, it is not to be found. We return to the Mission and retrace our steps. There is no ring. I treat the situation of losing the ring and send a distant treatment to my ring. I am at rest, feeling I might have just given a huge donation to someone who might find it. We return to the house to prepare the dinner as guests are coming.
After dinner, we share stories of our Reiki journey. Phyllis, shares of her grandmother, Hawayo Takata always being able to manifest lost items. It always amazed Phyllis. After Takata died, Phyllis said, lost items would suddenly appear and the feeling of her grandmother would be present. I said,"well, Takata, you can bring back my ring if it is to be." After a surprise birthday cake for Sister Carol and more sharing, we left, feeling very full from our days of being together.
Hira, Carol and I return to where we are staying. As we are sharing of our visit and reflecting, I see an energy form enter into the room on 2 different occasions. Hira's diamond necklace falls off her chain onto the counter where we are sitting. This has been a day for diamonds falling off us. Some great magic mystery is happening.
We leave early to go to the Bosque del Apache in New Mexico 6 hours away. This is a huge bird migration winter retreat for thousands of birds. There is magic and order to the daily migration to the fields for feeding and the return at sunset of thousands of snow geese and sandhill cranes.
Our trip ends back in El Paso with a phone call from Phyllis and Joyce. My diamond ring had been delivered to the house in the very early morning. It was found in the doorway of the bathroom. Was this a magical surprise visit from Hawayo Takata?

I believe in Reiki and its path of mystery! I give my thanks to Takata and the universe for this returned gift.
